Quick Snack.

I was too hungry after my speech class that I wanted to run to the vending machine to grab something to eat and then go to the library to work on my paper!

I was looking at the vending machine that offers so many different junk foods. They’re so unhealthy, but yet good and convenient. I didn’t want it to be unhealthy all the way, so I got Sun Chips, garden salsa flavored. I never had it before, so I was like why not give it a try and since I was hungry. I had the original and the harvest cheddar numerously times when I was back in high school. Same texture and everything, nothing different except the flavors, of course.

Garden salsa wasn’t a very bold flavor to the sun chip, but I like the hence of hot to it though. At least it was a good snack to munch on and survive to type up a paper. Hehe. >.<;;

It wasn’t all that great where I would obsessively eat it one pack after one pack. It’s very unhealthy if you do that too, even though Sun Chips says it’s good for your health! Hehe, but give it a try if you haven’t. It’s good to try different kinds of chips sometimes.

Cuties.

Lately after this break, I have been addicted to eating Cuties. Cuties are small Clementines that are really sweet and easy to peel! Recently since so many Asian grocery stores have opened like Assi off of Pleasant Hill Road and H-Mart on Peachtree Industrial. I stocked up on them. A lot of them.

It’s also a good source of Vitamin C especially since you’re in college. Don’t want to get sick and finals are coming up now. They’re also handy to carry around and eat on the spot. Well of course, the environment has to right in order to eat them. If you ever get a chance and craving for some source of Vitamin C, go to your nearest Asian grocery stores, like Assi and H-Mart. These stores have been opening like crazy and having crazy sales too. Hehe.

Hope you guys will try it out and enjoy them. :)

Happy Belated Thanksgiving.

Hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving dinner. Of course, when people have dinner, majority celebrate it with a turkey! I did too! I thought it was pretty satisfying even though it was a bit dry.

This time we marinated it differently since my brother and I have been watching FoodNetwork a lot lately (almost every single night and they have been talking about making Thanksgiving dishes nonstop!) It was interesting though because it would get you thinking on what to do and what not. For our turkey marinating process, we used: olive oil, sage, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper, and unsalted butter. It was a pretty process well for it because I didn’t have to use my hands, instead my brother did. :) I just prepared it for my brother. I melted the unsalted butter and mixed in the herbs, salt, and pepper. I first poured the olive oil and my brother rubbed the turkey and then used the stuff I prepared and patted it onto the turkey. We then let the turkey set for a day and it was ready to bake! We baked it a little over 4 hours, it was a 17 pounds turkey; so I wanted to make sure that it well cooked instead I made it a little dry. But hey, we have to make use of the gravy to moist the turkey. Hehe. ;)

It was overall a good and delicious bird! Hehe, but I don’t know if I want to make it for next Thanksgiving. I think I want to stick with ham; it’s easier! Hehehe. =P

Heavenly Café

Just last week before the break started, I was still on campus and I went out to lunch with two of my friends. We were kind of craving for wraps and it was a cold day too, so we didn’t want to walk really far from the campus. So we went to Heavenly Café that’s off of Decatur Street, next to Walter’s

I ordered gyros along with French fries. The whole total was $6.15. I personally thought it was that bad. There were different varieties that you can choose to be the base of the gyro, I got a roasted chicken. Next time when I visit, I really like to try the tofu one. Hehe. The sides were well portioned. I thought it was a lot, hot from the fryer, and yummy.

Even though it was overall a yummy roasted chicken gyro that I had, it was a little bit messy. As I start to finish it, the gyro started to drip the juice, I guess from the chicken? But I wouldn’t let that affect me from eating it next time. I think its worth for my next visit. Hehe, they also have some stuff that I would like to try in the future too. I think they even curry with rice. YUMMY! Hehehe. ^^’’

Kani House.

Craving for Japanese all week? I have! I waited for Friday for a long time because I was going out to dinner with a group of friends for a friend’s birthday. We went to Kani House, which is a Japanese hibachi and sushi restaurant.

It’s a nice restaurant to celebrate someone’s birthday, but heads up it’s not inexpensive at all. But it’s a Japanese restaurant we’re talking about with hibachi chefs and expensive type of fishes. The hibachi chef that served us was very nice, amusing, and making us laugh. He was very entertaining and kept a smile on our faces and our eyes amazed on his hibachi cooking skills. Hehe. (Look at the pictures below along with my friend’s meal!)

Even though I was amazed with the hibachi chef, I didn’t order hibachi this time. Instead I had a seafood u-don soup and volcano roll. The seafood u-don was nice too. It was steaming hot when the waiter brought it out for me. Sometime to warm me up when I was freezing cold too, hehe. Volcano roll is one of my favorite sushi’s. It’s topped with a spicy cream that the chef bakes and tops it onto the sushi roll! You don’t even need to dip it with soy sauce, but top it with some wasabi. Hehe. It’s hard to describe the flavors, but it’s a blast of flavors when you pop that sushi in your mouth. Order it when you get a chance too! I introduced to my friends and they love it too. Hehe. Yummy! *Slurps*

When you celebrate your birthday at Kani House, they will give you a birthday hat and let the birthday girl/boy wear it and take a group picture. After they take the group picture, they will develop it for you and give it to the birthday girl/boy along with a pair of chopsticks. Oh, of course we get to sing to the birthday girl/boy too! Hehe.

Oh and to end your end, they will also serve you ice cream for dessert, a choice of vanilla or rainbow sherbet. Yum. ;)

So next time when you go to a sushi restaurant, try the volcano roll!!! Hopefully you will love it like how my friends did. Hehe. :)
